This professional development course examines the five primary conflict management styles and their application in workplace and interpersonal settings. Participants will learn to identify their own default conflict resolution approaches, understand the strengths and limitations of each style, and develop skills to adapt their approach based on specific situations. Through interactive breakout sessions and practical scenarios, this course provides a comprehensive framework for navigating conflicts effectively and building more productive relationships.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and differentiate between the five conflict management styles (Competing, Collaborating, Compromising, Avoiding, and Accommodating) and their characteristic behaviors.
- Assess personal conflict management preferences and recognize how these impact professional and interpersonal interactions.
- Evaluate appropriate contexts for applying each conflict management style based on factors such as urgency, importance, relationship dynamics, and desired outcomes.
